Richard L. Drackley, Jr. Richard Lee Drackley, Jr., 82, Marshfield, died on Monday, January 6, 2014 at Bethel Center, Arpin, where he was a resident for 10 months since March 11, 2013. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville and on Friday from 10:00 am until service time at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 10, 2014 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Pittsville. Burial will take place in the Town of Richfield Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Sebastian, Nathan Drackley, Johnathan Drackley, Roger Christiansen, Christopher Christiansen and Dave Long. Richard was born on June 8, 1931 to Richard and Ruby (Morrison) Drackley, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from November 27, 1951 until his honorable discharge on November 5, 1953. He married Bertha Grubofski on November 7, 1963 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Pittsville. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 7, 2013. After their marriage Richard worked for the Wood County Highway Department, was self employed, and sold firewood and apples. He loved to garden and he would take his produce and sell it at the farmers markets in the parking lots of Festival Foods, Marshfield Clinic and in Baum’s Mercantile in Pittsville. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and was a volunteer for the Richfield Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Bertha and their children, Betsy (Gerald) Sebastian of Unity, Bernie (Audra) Drackley of Pittsville, Bev (Brian) Walker of Wisconsin Rapids, Bonnie (Kevin Meyer) Drackley of Marshfield and Brian Drackley of Marshfield. He is also survived by 2 step daughters, 8 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is further survived by his brothers Russell (Dorothy) Drackley of Arpin and Dale Drackley of Richfield. He was predeceased by his parents. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at St. John’s Catholic Church with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 am on Saturday until service time at St. John’s Catholic Church. Andrew was born on April 25, 1933 in Marshfield to Lawrence L. and Louise A. (Carlotto) Olsen and attended Marshfield Schools. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, in active service for 4 years and the in the reserves for 4 years while attending college at St. Mary’s University in Winona, MN. He married Ellen L. Riendl on June 23, 1962 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield. Andy owned and operated Tabulated Bookkeeping in Marshfield for 53 years until his retirement in 2012. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He is survived by his wife, Ellen and their 5 children and 8 grandchildren, Larry (Cheryl) Olsen and their children, Caitlin, Andrew, and Lauren; John (Anisha) Olsen and their children, Ryan and Trina; George (Sue) Vater Olsen; Mike (Terri) Olsen and their children, Jack, Ellie and Hank; and Victoria Olsen. He is also survived by a niece, Kathy Hess and 2 nephews, Jeff and Matt Glinski and a brother-in-law, Jim Glinski. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Lucille Glinski. Charles W. DrexlerCharles W. Drexler, Sr., 65, Wisconsin Rapids, died on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 13, 2014 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Rozellville with Rev. John Robert Alphonse officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery at a later date. Military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6352 at the church following the service. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield and on Monday from 9:30 am until service time at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. Charles was born on July 29, 1948 in Wausau, the son of Richard and Adeline (Altmann) Drexler and attended Stratford schools. He served in the Wisconsin National Guards. He married Marie E. Beining on May 4, 1968 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. Charlie had been a truck driver for H & S Mfg., worked in the tire dept. at CW Transport and then was employed at DeBoer Trucking. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Operating Engineers Local 139 until his retirement in 2009. He was an avid outdoorsman and his grandchildren were most important in his life. He is survived by his wife, Marie, their 3 children and 4 grandchildren. Their children are Charlie (Tama) Drexler of Wisconsin Rapids and their children, DeeAnn and Cole; Dan Drexler of Wisconsin Rapids and his children, Kaleb and Carson; and Lauri (Scott) Pappenfus of Pierz, MN. He is also survived by his parents, Richard and Adeline Drexler of Stratford and his brothers and sisters, John (Cindy) Drexler, Diane (Bob) Helms, all of Marshfield, Dennis Drexler, Paul “Buck” (Wendy) Drexler, Steve “Beaver” (Rochelle) Drexler, Sharon (Carl) Moeller, a sister-in-law, Judy Drexler, all of Stratford, Kris (Tad) Wetterau of Wisconsin Rapids. Irene E. HeegJon Edward Kolbeck, 73, of Anchorage, AK died Thursday, Jan. 16 He was born to the late Jack and Marcella Kolbeck, June 09, 1940, in Marshfield, WI. He moved to Anchorage Alaska in 1963. He married the late Eileen Dillinger Nov. 23, 1966. Jon had a zest for life that was contagious. His true passion was snow machining, which he enjoyed doing every weekend until he retired, then enjoyed “going up” during the week. He also enjoyed tinkering in his garage, golfing, and riding his Harley. One of the highlights of his week was going to Gallo’s on Monday nights with a bunch of his friends. He loved going on adventures; his most recent was a road trip on his Harley with his buddies to Sturgis. Jon fished and hunted for many years and always had great stories to tell about his escapades. He was an excellent story teller. Meeting new people was never a challenge for him because he loved to socialize. Jon worked as a Heavy Equipment Master Mechanic from 1963 until his retirement in 2000. Jon is survived by one child: Kathy (John) Swaw of Tacoma, WA; one brother Ronald (Helen) Kolbeck of Anchorage, one sister Kerene Stauss of Marshfield, WI; two grandchildren Tayla and Tiffany Swaw of Tacoma, WA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 3 pm Thursday Jan. 23rd at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church 3900 Wisconsin St. Anchorage, AK 99517. Gathering at the church Lunney Center to follow. Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield at a later date.

Irene E. HeegIrene E. Heeg, 90, Marshfield, died on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Hewitt, with Rev. Barnabas Kyea officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 9:30 am until service time at St. Michael’s Church. Irene was born on March 23, 1923 in Colby to Andrew and Anna (Knier) Arends and was a graduate of Colby High School. She married Lawrence E. “Bud” Heeg on June 22, 1944 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby. He died on January 2, 1998. The Heeg’s lived in Hewitt until 1978 when they moved to the Town of Richfield where they farmed and Irene resided there until the present time. Irene had worked at the post offices in Auburndale and Hewitt. She is survived by 3 sons and a daughter, 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Her children are Kenneth (Shirley) Heeg of Marshfield and their children, Brian (Sandee) Heeg and their son Tyler, Todd (Wendy Brugh) Heeg and his daughter, Katelyn, Vickie Heeg, Keith (Kim) Heeg, and Aaron (Jenni) Heeg and their children, Alex and Ava; Thomas (Ruth) Heeg of Hortonville and their children, Jeff (Sara) Heeg and their children Riley and Lily, Sarah (Shawn) Krause and their children, Jake and Katie, Michael (Crystal) Heeg and their children Kolby and Caroline; Mary Jo Newmier of Marshfield and her children, Brenda (Chris) Breu and their children, Cody and Kyler, Kevin (Terri) Newmier and their children, Sydney and Jack and Brad Newmier; Steve Heeg and his children, Emily, Mindy and her son Preston and Jill. She is further survived by a brother, Walter “Fritz” Arends of Watertown and 4 sisters-in-law, Geroleen “Geri” (Joseph) Burr of Marshfield, Elaine Heeg of Elkhart, IN, Melda Heeg of Dixon, IL, and Lucille Arends of Milwaukee. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids. The visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00am until time of service at St. John’s Catholic Church, with a KC Rosary at 10:45 am. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Alfred was born on April 18, 1924 in the Town of Cassel, Marathon County, to Benjamin and Anna Marie (Jansen) Salzmann. He married Barbara M. Ashbeck on August 23, 1947 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids. Alfred was a lifelong farmer in the Town of Marshfield. He was extremely active in soil conservation and often gave tours of his farm. He received the Outstanding Young Farmer award from the Marshfield Jaycees. Al was an active member of the Knights of Columbus John Eisen Council #1799, and was also a 4th Degree Knight, and served as pro-life chairman. After his sons were grown, Al volunteered for many years visiting hospice patients, distributing communion to patients at St. Joseph’s Hospital and drove people for the Division of Aging. He is survived by his wife, Barbara and 2 sons, Bruce (Sheri) Salzmann of Independence and John (Lori) Salzmann of Marshfield. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Maj. Renee D. Salzmann, U.S.A.F., Kristie L. Salzmann and Steven Salzmann. He is further survived by 2 brothers, Joe Salzmann and Rudy Salzmann and a sister, Adeline Hladilek. He was predeceased by his parents, 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Memorials may be designated in his name to Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospice or St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish. Patricia was born on March 21, 1945 in Marshfield, the daughter of Macellus “Spitz” and Ann (Hartl) Jirschele and was a graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. She was united in marriage to Donald R. Schlafke on August 14, 1965 at St. John’s Catholic Church. He died on July 8, 2004. Pat had been employed at Wing’s Hallmark Store in the Northway Mall for a number of years. She enjoyed her time at the family cabin and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Amy (Jon) Albrecht, Matthew (Kelly) Schlafke, and Adam (Stacey) Schlafke, all of Marshfield. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Paige, Rachel, Morgan, Weston, Will, Mattea, Caleb, Myranda, Toni and Bailey. She is further survived by a brother, Marc (Carla) Jirschele of Berlin. James J. PecherJames J. Pecher, 71 of Wisconsin Rapids died at his home on Thursday, January 23, 2014. Memorial services will be 11am Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home in Pittsville. Burial will be later in the Town of Richfield Cemetery, Marshfield. Family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30am Wednesday until time of services at the Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home. James was born in Marshfield on September 16, 1942 to Arthur and Gladys (Tessmer) Pecher. He was united in marriage on August 13, 1966 in Cicero, IL to Kathleen V. Krahulec James spent his early years in Athens WI, and enjoyed growing up on a farm with his three brothers and sister. After his service in the Navy, he resided in Berwyn Ill. where he meet his wife Kathleen and started a family, retuning to Wisconsin with his family in 1976. James was employed as an Ironworker in Chicago Ill., Roehl Trucking, Green Bay and Western Rail Road then Canadian National Rail Road in WI until his retirement. He enjoyed socializing with family and friends, both new and old, and loved telling nostalgic stories of his past, his children and adventures including his beloved black and white 57 Chevy. James was described by many to have a heart of gold and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, children Jamie (Brian) Bailey of Campbellsport, Susan (Kevin Kropidlowski) Pecher of Stevens Point, James (Lacie Orheim) Pecher of Wisconsin Rapids, 4 grandchildren, Kristen Pecher, her son Owen Kronberger, Nathaniel Kropidlowski, Christopher Christiansen, Megan Christiansen, and Lilli Pecher. He is further survived by two brothers Gilbert (Bev) Pecher of Wisconsin Rapids and Roger (Karen) Pecher of Vesper and one sister Margaret Billman of Wisconsin Rapids. Joan M. CritelliJoan Marie Critelli, 57, of Unity, WI, died Friday January 24, 2014. Joan was born to Joseph Critelli and the late Agnes Critelli on May 29, 1956 in Guthrie Center, IA. Joan led an adventurous life and lived in Mason City and Ames, IA, Falls Church, VA, Fairbanks, Anchorage and Juneau, AK, Savannah, GA, Oklahoma City, OK, Neillsville, Marshfield and Unity, WI. Joan had many jobs, including bar-tending, cleaning, commercial fishing in Alaska, customer service and factory work at Land O' Lakes. She devoted time to Bible study and her dogs Tucker and Pong. Joan never had her own children, but treasured her many nieces and nephews. Joan was fun loving and full of laughter. She liked winning at Scrabble, old movies, coffee, time with family, the Packers, big sweaters and leg warmers. Joan was preceded in death by her mother, Agnes, whom she dearly missed and her grandparents James and Josephine Critelli and Ona and Claude Irish. Joan is survived by her father, Joseph (Sharon) Critelli; her dear friends Amy Culpepper of Marshfield and Deb Primus of Boise, ID; two sisters: Christine (Scott) Nicolet of Round Rock, TX; Susan (Patrick) McTaggart of Dubuque, IA; three brothers: James (Mary) Critelli of Rocklin, CA; Timothy Critelli of Pacific Palisades, CA; and Mark (Marilee) Critelli of Marshfield, WI; and 12 nieces and nephews; Brian and Sarah Nicolet of Austin TX, Rachel and Sofie Critelli of Rocklin, CA, Abbey, Ryan, Liam and Danny McTaggart of Dubuque, IA and Mikala, Emily, Ava and Claire Critelli of Marshfield. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, with Pastor Larry Jones officiating. She married Philip J. Offer, Sr. on June 22, 1943 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Rozellville. He died on January 6, 1979. Ann and her husband farmed in the Town of Day, Marathon County. Later she helped her son Jim on the farm for many years. She is survived by her children, Philip (Gladys) Offer, Jr., Donna (David) Kowalski and Jim (Carol) Offer, all of Auburndale. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Michael (Donna) Beining, Sara (Perry) Nikolay, John (Shauna) Offer, Steven (Kelly Bouchonville) Offer, Jim Kowalski, Scott (Charlette) Kowalski, Stacy (Beki) Kowalski, Amanda (Mike) Lecus, Kristie (Tony) Bangart, Kevin (Tammy) Offer, and Katie Offer, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She is further survived by a sister, Carol (Jerry) Spindler of Stratford. Gertrude was born on November 19, 1919 in the town of Spencer, Marathon County to Richard and Anna (Weigl) Koch. She worked at various secretarial and office positions throughout her life in Marshfield including, Marshfield Clinic, Central Cheese, Opportunity Development Center, Boulevard Motors and Zimmermann Brothers. Gertrude enjoyed bowling and at one time was involved in 5 leagues, maintaining a 150-160 average. She is survived by her sister Florence Seehafer of Marshfield, sisters -in-law Irene Koch of Marshfield and Berdia Koch of Tucson, AZ , numerous nieces and nephews and lifelong friends Olga and Mary Ann. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters Dorothy Hakl, Margaret Jirschele and Alma Jirschele; two brothers Karl and James Koch. Gerald G. Brockman, Altdorf, 94, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 with his daughter, Barb by his side at Agape Acres Assisted Living in Warrens. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church, Pittsville with Rev. Robert Nelson officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Altdorf where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 153 of Pittsville. The visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville and from 9:00 am on Tuesday until service time at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church. Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Gerald was born on May 25, 1919 in Altdorf to William and Catherine (Wirtz) Brockman. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in France during World War II. He married Lucille Ella VanGorder on June 1, 1940. She died on November 1, 1996. Gerald worked at Nekoosa Papers until leaving there to put more time in building his cranberry marsh. He was instrumental in starting the Cranberry School and received an award from the Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers for his service. After retiring from the cranberry marsh he became a consultant to other growers and traveled to Russia to consult with growers there. Lucille and he enjoyed traveling in their spare time especially traveling out west to the Dakotas and Wyoming. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Altdorf, until moving to Pittsville and becoming a member of St. Joachim’s Catholic Church there. He moved to Tomah in 2008 to be near his daughter Barb. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Rob (special friend – Jayme Altman) Fink, Laurie Rinehart, Wade (Nikki) Brockman, Jessica Brockman, Ashley Brockman, Whitney (Bryan) Schwanebeck, Jonah (Aimie) Brockman, Sarah Griffin, Jeremy Brockman, Renee (Ben) Tilberg and Kristine (Jake) Ryan and 19 great grandchildren. He is further survived by a brother, Ernest “Bud” (Margaret) Brockman and 3 sisters, Rita Hassenohrl, Joan Schmidt and Marcie Diedrick. Steven A. AndresSteven A. Andres, 56 of Marshfield died at his home on Thursday, January 30, 2014. Memorial service will be 1pm Thursday, February6, 2014 at the Rembs Funeral Home with Fr. Jim Logan officiating. Family will receive relatives and friends from 12:00 noon until time of service at Rembs. He was born on February 22, 1957 in Mondovi to Arthur and Judith “Jiggy” (Carolfi) Andres. Steve had a love for motorcycles and his Monte Carlo. He enjoyed NASCAR and knew all the stats, cooking, grilling and running around with his friends. He would always call his daughter "pumpkin" while doting her. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Hirsch on December 10, 1977 and later divorced. Steve is survived by his daughter JaLee (Jeremy) Kilty of Glenwood City, two grandsons Damian and Tyler and two sisters Mary (James) Kohl of Marshfield, Jane (fiancé Jim Neu) Carl of Stratford and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11am Friday, February 7, 2014 at Rembs Funeral Home with Fr. James J. Logan officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Memorial Gardens, Marshfield. Family will receive relatives and friends from 10am Friday at Rembs Funeral Home until the time of services. Grace was born August 24, 1921 to William and Cora (Wix) Juno. She was married to Kenneth Blackwood on October 25, 1948 in Wisconsin Rapids. She worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory for thirty-one years, Figi's for sixteen years and volunteered at the Eagles Club. Grace is survived by a daughter, Judith Davis and her husband, Thayer of Tomahawk; and her grandchildren, Brooke Davis of Chicago and Thayer Davis IV of Prior Lake, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband Ken, and three sisters, Verna Schnell, Jeanette Sherman and Ruth Alice Rhyner. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be donated to Wells Nature View or Hospice. Funeral services will be 11am Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield. Visitations will be from 10am Saturday at Rembs Funeral Home until time of services. June was born on June 7, 1915 in Mifflin, WI to Joseph and Agnes (Wilkinson) Vickerman. She attended school in the town of McMillan and Marshfield. She was united in marriage to Lawrence L. “Bud” Doine on June 28, 1941 in Milwaukee. He died on September 4, 2002. Prior to her marriage, she was employed for five years at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory in Marshfield. After their marriage, she assisted her husband as a bookkeeper for their trucking business. They retired in 1977. During their retirement, they enjoyed camping and fishing. June is survived by two nephews, Lyle (Lori) Vickmann of Rothschild and Donald (Carol) Vickerman in Medford and a niece Marlene (Mike) Thoner Manhattan Beach, CA along with other relatives and friends. Muriel F. MickelMuriel F. Mickel, 95 of Stoney River Assisted Living Facility in Marshfield, WI died on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the House of The Dove, following a brief illness. A private family service is planned at a later date. Muriel was born on April 15, 1918 in Freehold, NJ to Warren and Mathilda (Lange) Fairbanks. She was united in marriage to Ernest P. Mickel on August 16, 1947 in Freehold, NJ. She received a Bachelor of Arts from the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, NY and a Masters Degree in Library Science from Catholic University, Washington, DC. She was employed as the lead librarian for the Rockville Library branch in Rockville, MD. Muriel resided in Bethesda, MD, raising a family before moving with her husband to Marshfield, WI in 1991. Muriel is survived by three sons, Thomas D. (Tara) Mickel of Los Angeles, CA, Steven H. (Christine) Mickel of Marshfield, WI and Alan E. (Vicki) Mickel of Phoenix, AZ; 10 grandchildren, Matthew (Autumn) Mickel of Baltimore, MD and Catherine Mickel of Madison, WI, Christopher, Kelly, Jack and Scarlet Mickel all of Los Angeles, CA, Jennifer (David) Gustafson of Madison, Daniel Grabow of Stratford, WI, Pamela (Jared) Wentz of Poynette, WI and Richard (Leah) Grabow of Milwaukee. She is further survived by 8 great grandchildren. Muriel was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and belonged to its choir. She greatly enjoyed music all of her life. Marie A. PawelkoMarie A. Pawelko, 87, of Marshfield died on Monday evening, February 3, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Friday, February 7, 2014 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Marshfield with Fr. Sam Martin officiating. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery in Stanley. Visitations will be from 9:30am Friday at the church until service time. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Marie was born on May 5, 1926 in Thorp to Henry and Celia (Figura) Horban. As a child of the Great Depression, Marie grew up on her family farm in Clark County. Her strong work ethic came from her family's beliefs and she instilled that work ethic into her children and grandchildren. Marie was united in marriage to Joseph Pawelko on June 5, 1948 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stanley. He died on November 24, 2007. They farmed the Pawelko farm at Diamond Lake near Lublin, WI for over 60 years. Marie had many vocations during her lifetime including wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, waitress, gardener, seamstress, Lublin 4-H organizer, St. Stanislaus Catholic Church choir director, Lublin Homemakers organizer and township assessors. She had only an eighth grade education but mastered the State of Wisconsin Assessorship exams and was an assessor for more than 20 years. Joe and Marie sold their family farm and moved to Marshfield. Marie was an active participant in her life with her strong independent ways who lived life by her own terms. She was an active member of St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church. She is survived by her children, Shirley (Darrel) Shufelt of LaCrosse, Steven (Bonnie) Pawelko of Rhinelander, Daniel (Monica) Pawelko of Marshfield and Diane (Neil) Ketterling of Lufkin, TX; 6 grandchildren, Doug Shufelt, Scott (Susan) Pawelko, Jennifer, Edward, Theresa (Brandon) Nelsestuen and Amy Pawelko and great grandchildren, Alex, Austin and Alyssa Shufelt. She is further survived by two brothers Pete (Rose) Horban of Pittsville and Mike Horban of Grants Pass, Or; two sisters-in-law Stella Horban of Tomahawk and Emily Horban of Stanley. Proceeded in death by her parents and husband Joseph, by her grandson Brian, three brothers, Walter, Sam and Joe Horban, two sisters Sophie Lockhart and Catherine Greenwalt. Memorials may be designated to St. John The Baptist Catholic Church Building Fund. Edwin H. BorchardtEdwin H. Borchardt, 89, Marshfield, died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Gold Horizons Assisted Living under the care of Ministry Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church, 1208 W. 14th St., Marshfield. Rev. Edwin Borchardt, Jr. and Rev. Daryn Bahn will officiate. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home, 300 S. Oak Av., Marshfield, and on Wednesday from 9:30 am until service time at Christ Lutheran Church, Marshfield. Edwin was born on September 7, 1924 in the Town of Wien to Lawrence and Anna (Laack) Borchardt and attended Briggs School in the Town of Wien. He married Darleen C. Woldt on August 21, 1948 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fenwood. The couple was blessed to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with their family in August 2013. The Borchardts farmed in the Town of Wien for 30 years and Ed also worked at several mobile home factories. They moved to Abbotsford in 1975 and Ed worked as a self employed carpenter. Ed and Darleen found fulfillment in working with the Laborers for Christ, helping with 11 church construction projects. They moved to Marshfield in 1992 where Ed worked part-time at Menard’s until retiring in 2006. Ed served as an elder in the Lutheran church and sang in the men’s choir. Faith and family were important to him. His hobbies included wood working, particularly carving wooden chains for all his family members, playing cards (he almost always won!) and working on puzzles. He is survived by his wife Darleen and their children, Dennis (Mary) Borchardt of Wausau, Steven (Linda) Borchardt of Rib Lake, Larry (Esther) Borchardt of Mosinee, Gail (Allen) Jicinsky of Spencer, and Edwin (MaryLynn) Borchardt, Jr. of Henning, MN. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers, Arthur in infancy and Lester, and 2 sisters, Erna Paulson and Esther Stroetz.
