Ruth M. MoenRuth M. (George) Moen, 96, Marshfield, died on Saturday morning, August 25, 2012, surrounded by her family at the House of the Dove. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield, where she was a member of its Parish Council of Catholic Women and Christian Mothers Society. Rev. Sebastian Venni will officiate and music will be provided by Ruth’s grandson, Brian Bean, trumpeter, Bruce Jensema and Dorothy Gehrke, Organists and Mike Gonering, soloist. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery and grandsons, Dan Moen, Tim Moen, Jerry Lyon, Pat Cammers, Tyler Hiller, and Turk Linzmeier will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 9:30 am until service time at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service will be held on Tuesday at 4:30 pm at the funeral home. Ruth was born on April 24, 1916 in Marshfield to Albert and Anna (Heckel) George and attended schools in Marshfield, graduating from McKinley High School. She was united in marriage to Magnus Moen on February 14, 1933 in Marshfield. He died on October 25, 1979. Ruth was employed at various places in Marshfield, the last being Weinbrenner Shoe Company. She was a homemaker for the remainder of her life. She was a former member of the Ebbe Ladies Aid and also served as Shady Lane 4H leader. Her many interests include gardening, cooking and baking, especially for others, sewing and embroidering, flowers and spending time with family. Ruth will be dearly missed by her children, Donald (Dolores) Moen, Sauk City, Darlene (Earl) Cammers, Loyal, Ruth Ann Lyon, Marshfield, Phillip Moen, Hollywood, SC, Allen (Ellen) Moen, Marshfield, Mary (David) Gaetz, Riplinger, Janece (Randolph) Olson, Marshfield, Linda (Stephen) Linzmeier, Marshfield, and Beth (John) Hiller, Hewitt. She is also survived by 34 grandchildren, 79 great grandchildren (including step grandchildren) and 15 great great grandchildren (including step great great grandchildren). She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Nora Moen, Marshfield, cousins, Lavern (Ruth) Reigel, Marshfield, and Harland (Delores) Reigel, Marshfield, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sons Kenneth, Robert, James, Michael, and Steven, 5 grandchildren/stepgrandchildren, 6 great grandchildren/step great grandchildren and a sister, Betty Huebl.
